Download our free XLC software which gives MS Excel the capability of displaying cell formulae as mathematical equations. Your worksheets will read like text books, they'll be easy to understand and easy to check. Download worked solutions and solved problems from our Repository or ask for help in the Forum. It's all free, so join our community and together let’s make it grow!
ExcelCalcs helps users in the following ways:
1) Our XLC software enhances MS Excel so that cell formulae can be displayed as mathematical equations. Now that cell formulae can be checked directly against mathematical expressions you'll never insert an incorrect cell formula again! Watch the animation opposite to see how XLC displays Excel cell formulae in easily-understandable mathematical notation. Download XLC now .
2) Our Repository of solved problems allows you to download, upload, share, verify, rate and recommend calculations. Our solved problems cover many subjects including Strength, Beams, Buckling, Civil Engineering, Cracks, Finite Element, Frames, Materials, Plates, Stress Concentration, Structural Details, Torsion, Pressure Vessels, Machine Design, Bolts and Threads, Gears, Pins and Joints, Ropes and Cables, Shafts, Welds, Math, Geometry, Heat Transfer (Conduction, Convection, Radiation & Combined), Dynamics, Fluids Mechanics, Piping, Electricity and Finance.
3) The ExcelCalcs forum provides free support for XLC and allows users to discuss Repository solved problems with their authors.
4) ExcelCalcs TV is currently under development. Its aim is to provide video material to explain and compliment repository calculations and XLC. Play the Movie which explains what we do.
ExcelCalcs Mission Statement - ExcelCalcs
will build the web's largest repository of solved problems using the
world's most popular mathematical software tool (Excel) and make it
available to the world for free.
What do we want from our visitors? Most visitors simply take calculations from the site without contributing. However the ExcelCalcs project relies on user input and to do this users must register with the site. Your input maybe a simple click to rate a calculation or you might like to ask questions in the forum (there is a forum topic dedicated to every calculation in the repository). We have even included some tools on the XLC toolbar to help you to add your comments. We are especially delighted when users upload their own calculations to share with the community. Please don't be a plunderer, be a contributor!
Did you know the University of Hawaii’s Professor Ramond Panko has found that 90% of all spreadsheets contain errors? - Follow this link to his website.
Often the errors are hidden in cell formulae which are notoriously
difficult to spot. By using XLC and generating equations from cell
formulae you can easily check your calculation directly against the
textbook. Furthermore you'll reduce the risk of errors by copying
audited content from the ExcelCalcs Repository. Users’ ratings and
forum discussions are the ExcelCalcs community auditing tools so make
sure that you use them and guide other users to good calculations.
Why Register?
You need to register so that you can participate fully with the ExcelCalcs community. As a registered member:
- You'll can download more items from the Repository (6 items per day instead of just 2 per day for unregistered visitors).
- You'll get free XLC support through the site forum.
- You can rate the calculations you download.
- You can ask authors about their calculations in the forum. Whilst anyone can read the forum, only registered users can raise questions and reply to discussion topics.
- You can subscribe to a calculation and we'll notify you when it is changed or corrected.
- You can keep a list of your personal favourite calculations so you can find them again quickly.
- When you visit the site we'll highlight what's changed since you last logged in.
- You can upload your own calculations.
- We will cherish your uploaded calculations.
- You have the option of subscribing to the Excelcalcs Newsletter. Our regular email will keep you informed about new repository calculations and enhancements to XLC. Please note that all our emails include unsubscribe links (we hate spam too!). Your details are never divulged to third parties.
User Testimonials
"The best thing about XLC is that equations are a really great check on the cell formula. It's easy to make a mistake with Excel formulas (as I know because I make them all the time) but its easy to see where you have gone wrong when you check against equations." Debbie_Williams.
"I have only been using it for a week or so but XLC is an answer to my prayers. I had been using the MS equation editor which took hours of my time and I often mistyped. Now I can generate equations directly from cell formulas instantaneously. Great idea. Thanks again and well done." Helen_Miller.
"I think I will be ditching MathCAD and using this instead. Then I can send my calculations to anyone then, we all have Excel whereas only a few of us have MathCAD." Boffin.
"There are loads of useful web calculations on the internet but the ExcelCalcs Repository gives it to me in an Excel format so I can easily copy and integrate them into my own calculations. This afternoon you saved me hours by downloading a repository calculation rather than authoring my own - and all this for free - thank you!" Mark_Rawlings.
"What a great plug-in (and the price is right, too!) I have been looking for something like this for years. Highly recommended!" jhardy.

Training - Select from a number of ExcelCalcs training modules to make a course meet the specific needs of your organisation. XLC spreadsheets explain the physical
principles without getting too involved with mathematics. Understanding is
gained (and retained) by observing the effect of changing input
parameters. Our approach has been used to good effect delivering effective training to many organisations around the world.
