User Feedback Requested 

The whole idea behind ExcelCalcs is to give away something good (XLC and Repository downloads) and receive lots of Excel calculations in return. This virtuous circle will drive site traffic and cultivates an active web community. It has been successful, almost 50,000 downloads and 875 visitor per day from a standing start in March 2007. However user contributions have been disappointing and I am conducting a survey to review strategies for increased user participation in the future. There are only 10 multiple choice questions so it should not take much time to complete. It is only open to registered users and each user is restricted to one submission. Thank you for your participation, it helps me know which way to develop the site.

The IMECHE Endorsement of ExcelCalcs 

I am delighted to report that along with other notable web resources like Efunda, Knovel and ESDU the ExcelCalcs site now features in the Institute of Mechanical Engineers Virtual Library. We can look forward to increased participation from this distinguished body (well I have to say this since I am a member). You need to login to the IMechE site to gain access to their Virtual Library services. I have used it on many occasions and found it very useful. Please ask your professional body to include a link to ExcelCalcs. I would be very grateful.

Biaxial Stress Assessment.xls

This calculation considers combination of stresses in a biaxial stress system. Calculation of principle stresses, maximum shear stress and stress intensity. Plot Mohr's circle on chart. Mohr's Circle is used to visualize relationships between normal and shear stresses. Assessment against various failure criteria. It is issued with a request for input regarding the Christensen failure criteria.
