 Calculating Fatigue life using BS7608 4 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0 Hello, I have calculated the hoop stress for each internal pressure spectrum(100,70,40,30,20 and 10 bar) and found the equivalent number of cycle at the peak stress range as 1.799. I then carried thickness correction for peak hoop stress value (which is now my peak stress) as per the BS7608 standard and calculated for S. I went on to calculated for N, number of cycles to failure for the corrected peak stress using the formula log(N) = 12.0900– 0.2279 x 2 – 3log(Sr) (class F2 joint). I finally found my fatigue life by finding the inverse of the n (equivalent)=1.799/N. Please advise if this is the right steps to follow. Regards, Yaw
