Hi sorry for not getting back sooner - I have just returned from holiday. I can't see the image attachment. Can you send me it again or a bit more information to go on?

the pictures seemed to be blocked from the original post. i no longer have them. i cannot re-create because i uninstalled the program due to the errors it caused every time i started excel.

when starting excel i would get a run time error.

when i would click on any of the icons in the xlctools the standard 'insert hyperlink' dialog box appears.

XLC checks that XLC.dll and XLC.xll are present and installed as Excel addins. If they are not it will try to install them. It sound like something is going wrong with this process. Can you try the following for me
1) What version of Excel are you using and what version of Windows?
2) Do you have user privilege to install software?
3) Have you successfully installed other Excel Addins?
4) Re-install XLC
5) Do you have a directory called C://program files/XLC and what files are contained there?
6) Do you get a "#NAME?" error when you insert the formula "=OVD(1)/UND(2)"?

Lets see where this takes us.

My original error, each time I started EXCEL, was: Run-time error '1004'; Add method of AddIns class failed.

But after reinstalling XLC and several shut-down / reboot cycles, XLC seems to be up and running as expected, with no errors on start-up
