I am trying to display a formula that has:

Fsy*Ast[do-((Ast*Fsy)/(1.7*f'c*B))]
Then this equation is divided by 1000000.

The problem is that I want the 1000000 underneath and I can only get it to the side. I tried two pairs of OVD()/UND() but the middle pair is then displayed in the equation.

Can I just add one more part to this?

Is there a way to change the way a equation name formatted so that

|fM does not subscript the M.

Perhaps there is another mark to placed in to indicate that a character should be exempt from formatting (in the same way the | is used to display greek letters).

XLC will only draw one division line in an equation. So you can't have a fraction within a fraction. You probably need to break down the calculation into a number of parts.
On your second point you can restrain XLC from automatically subscripting this is cover in the online help just below the flash tutorial. http://www.excelcalcs.com/content/view/52/126/
Hope this keeps you going.

Thanks,

Pity about the fractions. I will just not format the names of the equations with XLC.

Hi DvdHntr:

I had a little play with the parameters you posted.

I used values of Fsy, Ast, do,f'c, and B in cells B6 though 10, and I used the following equation ...

=ODI(B6*B7*(B8-((B7*B6)/(1.7*B9*B10))))/UDI(1000000)

I have attached the graphic of the equation object and the associated worksheet herewith.

Please check these out and see what you think.
