First of all let me reassure you that we'll do everything we can to get you up and running. We will and extend your subscription for the time you are down and if you are not satisfied we'll give you a full refund.

That said I don't think anyone has reported in a "Run-Time error 13" before. I have researched the subject and found some articles suggesting that un-installation and reinstallation usually solves the problem. This is easy enough so let's try this first.

You find the uninstall program from the start button>Programs>XLC>uninstall XLC. Then reinstall. Make sure excel is closed when you uninstall and reinstall. Use the live support button when you do this and I'll guide you through the process if you like.

i get an "run-time error 13"
Live Support says (09:59):
OK - you have seen my forum response?
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (09:59):
yeah, and i tryed to uninstall but got the same error
Live Support says (10:00):
oh
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:00):
but im running 64bit with windows 7
could that be the problem?
Live Support says (10:00):
Any error messages on installation?
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:00):
nope
Live Support says (10:01):
I'm running 64bit with windows vist with no problems

tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:01):
and the XLC adding pops up in excel but as soon as i type something i get an error
Live Support says (10:01):
What version of Excel?
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:01):
2007
Live Support says (10:02):
So you start Excel and get the runtime error immediately?
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:04):
i start excel and the XLC add-inn is there and i can clikc the buttons but as soon as i type something i excel like a constant or a number i get run-time error 13 and the XLC buttons stopp working
Live Support says (10:05):
Weird - lets see if the problem is asscoiated with XLC's automatic features. We can switch this off.
Live Support says (10:06):
The first button on the toolbar swoitches it off.
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:06):
1 sec
Live Support says (10:06):
Sounds like you may have to restart Excel first
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:07):
yes
its working now
thanks alot
Live Support says (10:08):
Ok but there is a problem with the automatic features
sounds like it is causing a problem.
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:08):
oki
Live Support says (10:08):
The automatic features are worth having.
Live Support says (10:09):
You can us the manual redraw equations whilst I look into this further.
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:10):
yeah, no problem
Live Support says (10:10):
I am going to boot up Excel 2007 and see if I get the same problem.
I'll be back in 5 mins or so.
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:10):
oki
Live Support says (10:19):
You still there?
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:20):
yes
Live Support says (10:20):
Its working fine on my Excel 2007 installation so there must be something about your installation which is different.
Do you have any other addins installed?
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:21):
nope no other addins but im useing a Norwegian version
could that be it?
Live Support says (10:21):
I can't see this being a problem
Live Support says (10:22):
The automatic functions simply check any cells have changed that require an equation update
so I am struggling to think what the problem might be.
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:23):
ah i see
Live Support says (10:23):
particularly as XLC is working in a manual mode
Runtime error 13 errors are usually when one piece of software is in conflict with another
Live Support says (10:24):
but if XLC is working...mmm
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:24):
got the same error at my laptop
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:25):
but the other functions seems to work
Live Support says (10:25):
well I am pleased you are seeing some action but there is a problem here.
Live Support says (10:26):
Can you list all the addins from the Excel options page?
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:28):
Excelcalcs Add-in, Xlc, and Videosoft Flex Grid 7.0
Live Support says (10:28):
I am thinking maybe another addin interferring with XLC
I don't know Videosoft Flex Grid 7.0 but is this easy to uninstall and reinstall?
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:29):
no clue what it is
i can just deactivete it
Live Support says (10:29):
let me google it
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:30):
its a crack thing i think, but im on a student license
Live Support says (10:31):
It looks a bit dodgy to me - I have see a lot of cracks, malware and russian brides on a google search
Can you uninstall it?
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:35):
working on it :
Live Support says (10:35):
I hope this is the source of the problem.
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:39):
removed it and still got the same error
Live Support says (10:39):
Doh
Live Support says (10:40):
Would you try another XLC uninstall and reinstall for me?
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:40):
Run-time error 13 - type misstype
yes no prob
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:42):
same thing after the reinstall
Live Support says (10:43):
Ok Let me look into Run-time error 13 is it "type mimatch" not "type misstype"
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:45):
Run-time error 13 "type mismatch"
Live Support says (10:54):
If I send the previous version og XLC could you uninstall the current one and reinstall this one. I would like to know if it is something new that has crept in with the latest version?
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (10:57):
oki
I have sent it through to your registered email account
tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (11:00):

tmy1337 - Anonymous from the web says (11:04):

tmy1337 I have added some error handling code to XLC. I have uploaded it as XLC 10_01 Build02. Please install this and let me know what happens. Can you check if the automatic features are working too. Thanks for reporting the error in.

Sorry to hear this. I had managed a work around for tmy1337 but we worked it out off the forum by direct email. There is some issue with the new functionality in the latest version. I have not specifically diagnosed the problem because I manage to reproduce the error on any of my machines.

The work around was simply to keep with the previous version of XLC. You can download it here.

In the interests of finding a more satisfactory solution to the problem would you agree to run some tests for us?

I am pleased to report that XLC Ribbon works with the 32bit and 64 bit versions of Excel 2013 obtained using the free Office 365 Home Premium Preview. Excel 2013 looks a little flat and dull compared to previous versions but I think this is the influence of the new Windows 8 'metro' look and f...
