Description

Various frames: rectangular, gable, and skillion, with pinned and fixed bases. Each is set up with various load cases. The file is just a storage place, where the worksheets were created. Those used have been copied elsewhere, had loading calculations and member checks included, and checked comparitively against results from microstran and multiframe. They are checked on an as needs basis, so you will need to validate before using. Suggest getting some of the other frame worksheets from ExcelCalcs which show the formula using XLC and then check the multiple loadcases used here. Superposition has been used for the loadcase combinations.

Friedrich Kleinlogel (1892-1969) was a prominent German structural engineer and researcher, well-known for his pioneering work in the analysis of frames, particularly in the development of analytical methods for solving indeterminate structures. His contributions have had a significant impact on the field of structural engineering and have paved the way for advancements in the design and analysis of complex structures.

Born in Meiningen, Germany, Kleinlogel pursued civil engineering at the Technical University of Munich. After completing his studies, he worked as a structural engineer in various engineering firms before transitioning to academia. He held teaching positions at several institutions, including the Technische Hochschule Darmstadt, where he primarily focused on teaching the design and analysis of structures.

Kleinlogel's most significant contribution to structural engineering was his development of the 'moment distribution method' or 'Kleinlogel's method.' This innovative technique allowed engineers to analyze indeterminate structures more efficiently by distributing the moments at the joints. The method simplified the process of analyzing statically indeterminate beams and frames and quickly gained widespread adoption in the field of structural engineering.

In addition to his work on the analysis of frames, Kleinlogel made significant contributions to the field of shell structures, bridges, and pre-stressed concrete. He authored several books and articles, which have been widely recognized for their clear explanations and practical applications.

Friedrich Kleinlogel passed away in 1969, but his work continues to influence modern structural engineering. His innovative techniques and contributions to the field have had a lasting impact on the design and analysis of complex structures, ensuring that his legacy will be remembered for years to come.
