I am trying to install Version 03_08 . It seems to go through the installation routine, but when I open the info from the toolbar it shows Version 01.08 and I can not use the software - I am getting message about installing the new copy.

The upgrade instructions read: "Upgrading - Uninstall previous version (Start>Program Files>XLC>uninstall). Download and unzip the installation file. Run setup.exe."

Are you sure you uninstalled version 01-08 first?

I have recently become very frustrated with the expiration policy. It seems like every time I turn around, the liscense has expired, and I am asked to re-download the program.

I have now spent over 30 minutes trying to get the upgrade to work. I follow the instructions on upgrading, but still get the graphic that sends me to the download page to get a current copy. I don't know what I am doing wrong. Do I need to restart! It is becomeing not worth it to use.

I am sorry wes616 my intention is to keep everyone up to date with the latest features and so I don't end up trying to support older versions of the software. That said the upgrade seems to be causing some problems out there.

Here is a quick fix:
The zip file you download for XLC version 03_08 includes the latest copy of XLC.dll. All you need to do is copy it and paste in into the XLC install directory.

Let me know if this gets you going and I'll update the upgrade instructions (it might be simpler for people to do this rather than running the install programs).
