XLC 06_07 installation issues 1 Year, 7 Months ago Karma: 9
Hi John:

Couple of things ...

1) after uploading, the 'About XLC and setting' info box still shows Version 05.07

2) after changing the 'Equation vertical alignment' to mid, it is still top aligned

I even totally uninstalled the previous version and installed the new version afresh, the two items mentioned in the preceding persist.

Please take another look at the installations of the new version, and perhaps post a graphic of the equations with both Top and Mid alignment ... so we know of your understanding of the Top and Mid alignment and we don't expect something different than what you intend to implement.

Thanks.

NB:
A little bit of play with the vertical alignment showed me that whatever was the vertical alignment setting for a particular equation before the equation was drawn, that persists -- doesn't matter what the setting is subsequently changed to. By the way, the mid alignment looks good ... Great Job John!

Hi Yogi
I am glad you are out there helping me correct my mistakes.
1) Yes the 'about XLC and settings' form shows the wrong version number - doh!
2)I think 'top' and 'mid' is working as I intended but perhaps I have not explained how it works too well. When you open your 'about XLC and settings' button on the XLC toolbar you can set your EQS() equation control string preferences. So setting vertical alignment to 'top' means that subsequent EQS() functions created have an EqnStyle= 0 (i.e. top vertical alignment). This will not change the display of any existing equations. The online help covers this topic if you need further clarification and it includes the graphic you need.
Remember you can always use Excel's find/replace functions to change all occurrences of "EqnStyle= 1" to "EqnStyle= 0" to change the appearance of equations you have already created.

I have corrected the 'about XLC and settings' form to shows the correct version number but I'll not ask users to download again (I think I might annoy people).
Thanks again Yogi!
