I have put together this presentation to help you to produce good sketches in Microsoft Excel. Sketches are a very succinct way of describing the problem in hand.

Using the freeform tool you can simple scribble out a shape using your mouse but if you are as shaky as me you can't produce very accurate shapes by scribbling. A right click on the object shows that you can 'edit points'. You can make any of the lines curved and by dragging out the lines you can pullout any shape you like. To demonstrate how powerful the tool can be I have grouped together a number of freeform lines to make the excelcalcs frog. To make this I inserted a bitmap picture of the frog and stretched freeform shapes over a bitmap image.
