Showing Toolbar 1 Week, 6 Days ago Karma: 0
I closed the XLC Tools menu and can't find how to open it again. Help?

I tried re-installing, but no luck. The XLC toolbar is not visible under View>Toolbars. XLC still shows up in the add ins list.

I have used it several times, but didn't need it for one project and closed the toolbar. Wish I hadn't done that.

I even tried doing a manual install, nothing works. Please Help!

Brandtw it sounds like you have done everything I would suggest. It appears that XLC.xll is installed correctly (because this appears in the add ins list) but XLC.dll is not installed correctly (because you can't see the XLC toolbar and it is not listed in the View>Toolbars list).

Can you check that XLC.dll is shown in your XLC install directory.

If it is then make sure it is registered (i.e. part 5 below tells you XLC is registered).

Tell me exactly what happens and I am sure we'll have you back up and running again.

PART 1 - XLC.dll
================
Follow these instructions to register maually:
1) goto start button and select "run"
2) type in "cmd" this will get up a command prompt window.
3) Navigate to the xlc install directory (use "cd" commands)
4) check using "dir" that two files are present XLC.dll and XLC.xll
5) Register XLC.dll by typing "regsvr32 XLC.dll" into the command prompt window. - you should get a message saying you have succeeded in registering.
6) Hopefully you can see the toolbar when you start Excel.

I actually went through that entire process yesterday and got the success window pop-up, but it still wasn't working. I tried the exact same thing today and it worked. Thank you so much for getting back to me. This will make my senior project much easier. I have told a bunch of other engineering students about this program, so let hope that it becomes huge! Thanks again!
