I am new to XLC and need help.

How do I use nested parentheses? If I use OVD and UND, I get something not very pretty!

How can I depict summation with the lower and upper limits?

XLC does not support nested parentheses. XLC intends to render Excel formulae in a mathematical form. In this case the upper and lower limits would be represented as arguments of a function. The Equation editor could be used to write your formula in the manner you describe.
