SOLVED - render ^2 in Excel 2007 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I like the program, thanks for your work

I looked through all the 'bug' threads and haven't seen anyone with the same problem

windows xp, excel 2007
a nonsense/test formula I tried was (b25/999999)^2
"show equation" displayed(Me/999999)2 [the e was subscripted properly, the 2 was not superscripted]

I reinstalled the program, tryed it with other formulas, etc. to no avail

Let me know what you think,

Thanks!

Jon

I have tried your problem but everything works fine for me - I have attached an image and the spreadsheet itself so that you can see what I have done.

Maybe you could attach your file and I could take a look at it?

Re:"show equation" didn't render ^2 or any power correctly in xp excel2007 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 469
I normally use Excel 2003 and everything works fine in this version. However try the same thing in Excel 2007 and I get exactly the problem you describe. Thank you for reporting this in it is certainly an Excel 2007 specific bug. I'll try to sort this out now.

I have done some tests and I think I have found a bug not in XLC but Excel 2007. I need to take this up with Microsoft. I have no idea how long it will take but I'll keep you posted of any developments. Until then I am afraid that XLC is only working with Excel versions 2000 to 2003. Thanks again for reporting this it is a very significant issue for me.

Hi, I have the exactly the same problem as other people mentioned in the thread, but I use Office 2008 installed instead of 2007.

I hope it's the same bug as that in 2007.
