Show Equations

To show an equation select any cell to the right hand side of a cell containing a formula and click the "Show Equation" button on the XLC toolbar and an equation graphic will be drawn using the font attributes of the active cell. If a cell does not contain a formula then an equation graphic will not be drawn (note that a cell with a value of 10 is not the same as a cell with a formula "=10").

Use XLC’s OVD() function and UND() function in cell formulae to define what XLC will display OVer a Division sign and UNder a Division sign when it generates your equation graphic.

Note: ODI()/UDI() can be used in place of OVD()/UND() to prevent function conflicts for German users (UND() is the German version of the logical AND() function).

Play the flash tutorial to see how to use XLC to show equations. Use the green arrows to move forward and back through the tutorial.

ADVANCED: When the "Show Equation" button is clicked an EQS() equation control formula is inserted into the active cell and an equation graphic of the  is placed over the cell. Equation graphics are redrawn over their parent EQS() formula.
