XLC Ribbon vs XLC Toolbar 5 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
I am working with a small team doing calculation development so have had XLC installed on several PCs and they chose the ribbon version. I use the toolbar version on my PC.
The Ribbon version puts a link to XLC.xlam in the file (see "edit links"along with a path to this file.
When I open the file on my PC the XLC.xlam file is not in my install directory and XLC adds a full path to XLC.xlam at the front of each EQS function which then generates errors at each function because it can't find this file.
I can fix the problem by stripping out the patch from each EQS function on each sheet in the (large) workbook and once done I can break the link to XLC.xlam. If I break this link before stripping the path details then the EQS functions fail altogether.
The calculations we are developing must be distributed to other users either with XLC installed (or without XLC and the XLC functions removed) so need to work regardless of whether the Ribbon or Toolbar version is used.

Are we doing something wrong or is there a way to fix this problem as we must deliver the software to the client within the next few days.

Rgds

Dennis - Toolbar version and ribbon version implement XLC functions in different ways. We have a FAQ which answers all your questions. Good luck with your deadline.
