"BOLTGRP.xls" is a MS-Excel spreadsheet workbook for analyzing
bolt groups. There are 8 worksheets which replicate the AISC 9th
Edition Manual Tables XI thru XVIII to be used for analysis. There are
2 worksheets for analysis by the elastic method, one for bolt groups of
up to 25 bolts and another for bolt groups of up to 75 bolts. These 2
worksheets allow the user to input axial, shear, and moment loadings.
Both of the elastic method worksheets have user input for bolt
coordinates, and the bolt group is plotted to aid in verifying the
group configuration. There is also built-in capability to facilitate
the user input of circular bolt groups.
There is another
worksheet for general bolts stress analysis, including combined tension
and shear. Finally there is a worksheet containing data and tables
replicated from the AISC 9th Edition Manual.
All the worksheets
are independent and self contained, so that you can move them from one
workbook to another. All the worksheets are protected, but not with a
password.
