Description:

"BASEPLT9.xls" is a MS-Excel spreadsheet workbook for analysis of column bases. One worksheet analyzes column base plates and determines anchor bolt tension if applicable. Omer Blodgett's "reinforced concrete beam analogy" is used for determining length of bearing along base plate and the tension in the anchor bolts. Another worksheet does shear lug analysis. A third worksheet is a tabular format sheet which enables the user to analyze many column bases at one time, one per row, and each one subjected to maximum and minimum, envelope type, loadings.

All the worksheets are independent and self contained, so that you can move them from one workbook to another. All the worksheets are protected, but not with a password.

Please read the "DOC" worksheet for program details as well as assumptions and limitations.

Andre Sidler 2008-03-20 22:55:47 Very nice spreadheet and very useful. Nice touch on the base plate table, excellent idea. I would love to see an AISC 13th Edition update to this spreadsheet.
